Undergraduate Admission

Why Choose Western?

Admissions applications for all prospective undergraduate students (including international students) are reviewed and decided upon by the Office of Admissions. Information on admissions requirements and application procedures for international students can be found on the Admissions website. For international students who do not yet meet the minimum TOEFL requirement or who wish to have more language preparation before entering a degree program, the Intensive English Program (IEP) offers English language courses and an opportunity to enter the university as an undergraduate while completing a few academic English courses.

Graduate Admission

Admissions applications for all prospective graduate students (including international students) are reviewed and decided upon by the Graduate School. Information on admissions requirements and application procedures for international students can be found on the Graduate School website.

Exchange Students

Western Washington University accepts students every year through reciprocal exchange agreements with other universities abroad or through the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). If you are interested in applying for exchange, your home university must have a current exchange agreement with Western Washington University or be a member of ISEP. Please contact your home university international office exchange coordinator for application details and materials.

Scholarships

Western Washington University Admissions offers merit scholarships for all eligible international undergraduate students. Incoming freshmen and transfer students who apply with a GPA of at least 3.0 will be eligible for International Achievement Award scholarships. These scholarships are renewable annually for students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
